Release Used Memory?

Jun 14, 2012 at 11:48 AM

I seem to have an issue, we are creating files that have between 10,000 and 100,000 rows, the files are created fine, but in watching the process manager for the server, the memory used (several GB) while the file is generating doesn't get released afterwards.

The amount of RAM it uses isnt an issue, but the only way i seem to be able reclaim it is to recycle the app pool for that site.

Does any one have any ideas of what i can try?

hi there,

This isn't the best solution (not a proper one anyway).

However, it's something I know and used in the same instant as you.

I found that if you recycle the IIS application pool, IIS would flushes out any unused memories.

Since my applications uses database session states, the user aren't being effected by the IIS recycling.

Hoped that help or until someone provide a better solutions
