I would like to use this component in a commercial application. is this allowed?. I could not understand what permissions LGPL license gives the users of this component?.  Do we need to provide our commercial application as open source in order to use this component?. clarification would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Yes, it is allowed. No, your application can be a proprietary software.
